💡 Why you should use the Value-Risk Matrix template

The Value-Risk Matrix template helps you assess and manage risks and value associated with tasks and changes. By categorizing tasks based on their value and risk, the template enables you to prioritize the most critical items and ensure high-value, high-risk tasks are addressed in a timely manner. Additionally, the template includes automated notifications that trigger Slack messages when tasks are assessed as high priority, ensuring that your team is promptly notified and can take action without delay. This makes the template an invaluable tool for effective decision-making and resource allocation.

👉 How the template works

The Value-Risk Matrix template consists of two main components:

  1. Folders and Databases: The template organizes tasks into a folder structure for easy navigation. Inside the folder, a database tracks key task attributes.

    • Process Changes Database: Contains fields for tracking details like the task description (Single Line Text), change category (Multi Select), value level (Single Select), and risk level (Single Select).

    • Automation: A priority level automation is set to notify teams of high-priority tasks using Slack Webhooks, triggered when tasks are assessed as "High" priority.

  2. Views: The template includes different views to visualize and manage tasks:

    • All Features View: Displays all task details in a tabular format.
    • Priority Grouping View: Groups tasks based on their value and risk levels.
  3. Automation: Triggers an alert in Slack when a task is assigned "High" priority. This automation ensures timely attention to critical tasks.

🎯 How to use

  1. Create New Tasks: Add new records into the Process Changes database, where you’ll fill out details like the task name, category, value level, and risk level.

  2. Set Values: Each task has predefined options for the value level (High/Low) and risk level (High/Low), which automatically determine the Priority Level.

  3. View Tasks: Use the All Features View to see all tasks or the Priority Grouping View to focus on tasks based on their assigned value and risk.

  4. Automation Notification: Once a task is marked as high priority, the automation triggers a Slack message, notifying the relevant team members.
